Founded by Dr. Lorenz Meier, a veteran of the drone industry and recognized by MIT Technology Review as one of the top 35 Innovators under 35, Auterion has evolved from its open-platform autopilot origins to become the operating system for autonomous mass operations. The AuterionOS platform doesn't just power individual drones — it unifies fleets from multiple manufacturers into a single, coordinated fabric, allowing one operator to control various autonomous vehicles simultaneously across air, land, and sea domains.
The company's battle-tested technology is currently deployed in Ukraine, where it powers autonomous drone operations in active combat. Under a recent Pentagon contract, Auterion is delivering tens of thousands of AI "strike kits" to Ukrainian forces, representing the largest deployment of autonomous technology in the West to date.
What excites us most about the company is how Auterion's AI-enabled software transforms commercial low-cost hardware into coordinated combat forces. Their Skynode X system adds AI-powered autonomy, secure communications, and edge computing capabilities to existing platforms, enabling vehicles to complete missions even when GPS and video links are jammed.

Alex Ferrara is a partner based in Bessemer's London office where he leads Bessemer's European efforts and primarily focuses on B2B SaaS, fintech, and cybersecurity.
Alex joined Bessemer in 2005. He led Shopify’s Series A in 2010, Pipedrive’s Series A in 2015, and has backed a range of successful cybersecurity startups.

David Cowan
Partner
David Cowan is one of the world’s leading investors, having funded Seed, Series A, and Series B rounds that led to over 30 IPOs. David was ranked sixth on the Midas List and tied for fourth in the Midas List of Hall of Fame.
Based in our Silicon Valley office, David launched Bessemer's practices in cloud, cybersecurity, consumer internet, gaming, space, and quantum computing. Known for taking chances on the unorthodox, David’s early stage bets include Twitch (acquired by Amazon), Rocket Lab (NASDAQ: RKLB), and Skybox Imaging (acquired by Google).
David has co-founded three cybersecurity companies incubated within Bessemer’s offices: VeriSign (NASDAQ: VRSN), serving as initial Chairman and CFO; Good Technology (fka Visto, acquired by Blackberry) serving as CEO; and Defense.net (acquired by F5).
He earned an AB in computer science / mathematics and an MBA, both from Harvard University. Today he serves on several non-profit boards including the Center for Inquiry and the Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. He is the co-writer of the Silicon Valley mockumentary series “Bubbleproof,” and Emmy-nominated producer of the award-winning MTV Documentary film “Afghan Dreamers.”

Aditya Nidmarti
Vice President
Aditya Nidmarti is a vice president in Bessemer’s New York City and Bay Area offices. He joined Bessemer in 2020 and moved to London in 2022 to help grow Bessemer’s European investing efforts before moving back to the U.S.
Aditya partners with early-stage entrepreneurs building companies between Europe and the U.S. in fields such as cybersecurity, data infrastructure, AI applications, robotics, and vertical-specific software.
Prior to Bessemer, Aditya worked at McKinsey and SpotHero. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University.

Parth Rajwade
Investor
Parth is an investor in Bessemer’s London office, partnering with early stage founders in Europe building companies across AI / ML applications and infrastructure, as well as deep technology in robotics, space, defense, energy, quantum, and beyond.
Before Bessemer, Parth worked at Bain & Company, where he worked on growth strategy, operational improvement, and investment due diligence for corporate and growth equity clients.
Parth earned an MBA from London Business School, where he was a B.K. Birla Scholar. He also graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern University, where he earned the Frederick S. Deibler Award for Excellence in Economics. Most importantly, that’s where he met his wife. On the weekends, Parth can be found watching Chelsea FC games.
