Loving and caring for a pet is universal, and a global human experience, but especially in India, pet ownership has changed significantly in recent years. Pets are part of the family for millions of urban households, and the pet care market in India has grown at a rapid clip, fueled by rising disposable incomes, shrinking family sizes, and a generation of pet owners who have a standard of care for their animals as they care for themselves. Yet the infrastructure for this market hasn’t kept up. A person who cares for the wellbeing of their pet today navigates a fragmented landscape of independent clinics, disconnected diagnostic labs, and ad hoc pharmacies with no continuity of records and no single point of accountability.
To close this gap, Vetic is creating a platform that ties together the clinical, diagnostic, pharmaceutical, and preventive layers of pet health into a single, continuous experience.
Vetic: India’s connected pet healthcare platform
Founded in 2022 by Gaurav Ajmera, Vetic is India’s first fully integrated pet healthcare network. Built on a proprietary operating system that captures longitudinal health records from a pet’s first visit, the platform connects 65+ clinics, 15 round-the-clock emergency facilities, vet-at-home services, an e-pharmacy delivering 300+ medicines across 700+ pincodes, and quick commerce for 600+ pet products, all under one connected experience.
As we got to know Gaurav and his team, three aspects of Vetic stood out:
First, Gaurav is a founder who has lived the problem most pet owners struggle through. He built Vetic because his cat Simba needed 25–30 visits across five or six different vets to reach a correct diagnosis. That experience is embedded in every product decision Vetic has made. Combined with his previous leadership experience at startups such as Pristyn Care and OYO, he is a founder that understands how to scale best-in-class processes, while building a great team which can help Vetic grow in lockstep with his vision.
Second, Vetic is a platform built for continuity: Vetic’s proprietary operating system standardises care protocols and captures longitudinal health records across its entire network. The AI layer Vetic built supports and optimizes triage from the first symptom. In action, this looks like assisting veterinarians with diagnostic intelligence and delivering proactive guidance through the Vetic app, including moving pet healthcare from reactive crisis management to continuous, always-on care. The result is over 60,000 subscribed members and stellar growth over the past two years.
Third, the team has demonstrated genuine category leadership. Vetic today operates across 11+ cities with 250+ veterinarians delivering care across in-clinic outpatient, advanced diagnostics, and complex surgeries. Its expansion into pet insurance, wellness plans, and e-pharmacy creates a seamless customer experience that goes beyond the clinic.
We have invested in multiple rounds prior to this and are excited to deepen our partnership with Gaurav and his team as he builds the category-defining company in Indian pet healthcare.
